goodness, I just spent quite some time reading all the posts. how interesting! I live north of Milwaukee, WI in Germantown in a subdivision called Indian Hills on Chippewa Drive. My little sister was upset at first about that name because her Dad(mine is Mexican American)is Ojibway/Chippewa Indian and she doesn't like "white' folks naming things using Indian names. For a show that is 40 yrs old. Daniel Boone is really progressive in their portrayal of American Indians. Just love the show.

wow. I never thought you guys would have this much advice! No generic parts. I'm going to the body shop tomorrow. Well I know so far from dr. I've got whiplash from my neck to middle back. x-rays and stuff I wont' find out for a few days. Got meds.

Still got my strange sense of humor. Going to lay down, but had to leave you with this to express how I'm feelin.

I just read all of the excellent advice and I wanted to add one more. Do not talk to the other drivers insurance company. If they call don't pick up. It is the job of your insurance company to deal with the other driver's insurance. As someone else said don't accept the first settlement. You may need additional medical care, as has been mentioned, and that should be covered by the other driver.

Hi Keats,

How did things go at the doctors today? I agree 100% with what the ladies are saying. Ellen and Cassie have given great advice. Do as the Dr. says, and DO NOT SETTLE until the Dr. is sure that everything can be done, for you that he can do. Also ask the Dr. if the injuries are going to be long term. If the injuries are going to be long term, then the guy's insurance will have to pay for all medical bills pertaining to your injuries for life. At least that is what I have been told. Check with your insurance company or if there is a lawyer that you can talk to for free to get advice, then ask the lawyer about what I just said. Also if it looks like the guys insurance is going to give you problems get a lawyer.

I have been in a few accidents and not gone to the doctor and now I am paying for it physically and money wise, it is way to late for me go back to the people that have cause the accidents I have been in.

If you handle it right from the very beginning it should not cost you any money.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your parents.

Since he was at fault, his insurance will pay for your car, and you won't have to pay a deductable. They also will set up a car rental, again you shouldn't pay for it out of your pocket.If they don't total out the car and decide to fix it, tell them you want only manufacturers parts, not generic. They will try to get out of that.
