Wonderful poem Cynthia!! Very appropriate for today.

God Save the Republic. "The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." ~ Jefferson

      Dear Keats,
If you are an admirer of Jefferson like me, you must read American Sphinx by Ellis. It is an easy read and tries to go beneath the historical record to look at the man. Also, if you haven't been to Monticello, it is quite worth the trip. Amazing place.

Can't make any trips, but I would go there if I could. My mother is a great fan of Jefferson, and I learned a great appreciation of him myself. I definately will check out the book.....thanks!

          Dear Keats,
Maybe we can start a book club of our own, a la Oprah. "The Mingo Women Book Club"---kind of catchy, don't you think?

Yeah, it's starting to look that way! LOL. You know I've never even seen an episode of Oprah? I've seen excerpts, but that's it. Hmm, the Mingo Women Book Club. I can see us now, sitting on C-Span's Book TV, all lined up at a table, discussing how we got started and how Mingo inspired some of us to READ, and some of us to WRITE. Everyone would read something they've written (and published by then)..then we'd do that required "slideshow" - which would feature mostly Inahlee's screenshots (and her art). Then at the end...thunderous applause!

Virtually or in someone living room ? if so, whose living room ?

Near a library - so those feeling like tasting what some of us like, can visit that library ?

I would recommanded, Dumas père et fils, Hugo, Michel Tremblay, Diana Galbaldon, Mark Anthony (the series of Runes), Isaac Asimov, Marion S. Bradley, Anne Rice.

Well, I am blessed to live about 3 blocks from a library! It's small though, but through our county system I order online for loan from other libraries and pick up right near my house! Well, I've already got my hands full to check out American Sphinx and Count of Monte Cristo! It's hard for me cuz I grew up reading the encyclopedia, so that set my attention span at about 4 or 5 paragraphs at a young age! LOL. I do think it would be nice to keep discussing authors, as I am always interested to learn new things. I wish I had more time to read. If I had everyone in my Living Room, we would all be watching Daniel Boone and listening to Ed Ames music!

    Hi All,

Cynthia, I enjoyed your poem very much, and also your story, Reflections.

You write Mingo so well, true to the character Mr. Ames created and gave us.

    Take care,

    Susie
