ED AMES Album
Ed Ames Album
To all Ed Ames' fans who participated in the project to collect and put together the album of memories: It was sent to him before the holidays. So far there has been no response but maybe after the holidays, we can always hope.
I have posted it here and it will also be on Susie's site at www. corn-cakes.com.
All the letters were printed on gray paper with blue borders which do not always show up as blue in the scanned documents.
Cynthia and I considered it an honor to put this album together. We hope that you all enjoy the memories that are recorded in the album. A little editing was done along the way for spelling and grammar so all would meet he would be proud of his fans.
Suzy

What a perfect New Years gift! Thank you both so very much! I'm enjoying every bit. The words are so touching, and most of it reflects my very thoughts as well. I hope you get a response soon. I'm positive that he'll appreciate every heart-felt word.

Suzy and Cynthia,
The album looks really, really nice. Very nicely done and I know it was a lot of hard work.
I enjoyed reading all of our entries. They were true, sincere, and from the heart. I will be adding it to corn-cakes as soon as I can. It will be a nice addition to the page I have dedicated to Mr. Ames. Thank you for letting me include it there.
Take care all, and Happy New Year,
Susie

Ack! My entry has a typo in it! It's tilting AT windmills, not "as" windmills. Sob - hopefully he won't notice. Regardless, I'm sure he'll appreciate the time/effort that went into creating this record of reminisces; at the very least I know his heart will be touched. If you can affect another person as deeply as he has us then you can't help but know you'll leave the world a better place than it was when you came into it

Sorry Terri,
We tried to catch typo too but missed it.

What a wonderful way to start the new year. It is awesome how EA has touched and still touches peoples lives. Unknowing he has saved and mentored many people on to the right path that the good Lord wants us to follow. It is hard to find a personality today that has the old fashion morals. The present lacks some of the standards that we desperately need in todays world. God bless us all and our nation in these troubled times.

The entries and the presentation are beautiful. I hope everyone hears from him personally but that's probably too much to hope for. At any rate, I agree his heart must be touched - and, I expect his wife's too! I would think any woman would be gratified to know how many women think her man is so wonderful, and gorgeous, and sexy. Happy New Year.

I finally had an opportunity to read the album -- just finished it a minute ago. I was so deeply touched by the entries that some of them moved me to tears. I know that when Mr. Ames reads it, he too will be moved.
A note to Terri: you're embarrassed to find a typo in your entry? Mine had my entire address on it! Geez! I didn't mean for that to happen! Whenever I make a computer file of a poem, I automatically put my address on it so I won't have to fool around with the print-out later when I submit it for publication. It just plain didn't occur to me to take the address off. I'm dyin' here! I feel like such a twit!
Oh, well. Too late now. Arrgh.

Just a quick note that I've made a link to this wonderful album a permanent fixture in the "Fun Mingo-Related Links" sidebar section that's always at the top left of the blog page. That way people will be able to find it even when the dated entry passes along as other new entries are added. Thanks again to Suzy and Cindy for such a wonderful project!!!!!!

You guys did a good job on this project!! I never sent my stuff because I couldn't find the right words to say how I feel. I can't wait to hear what he says about everything you guys wrote. Did you get a response yet? Wendy

Wow, what a wonderful book you guys put together. I so much wish I had found you guys in time to be a part of it, but I doubt I could have added anything that wasn't already said, and said wonderfully. I printed it out. I have to look back at who said they saw EA in Camelot. I would love to hear some thoughts on THAT experience. I am a Camelot fan too and have Richard Harris' autograph from when he toured in Camelot in the 80's. Additionally, I played Rosalee in Carnival in school, and can't picture EA as Paul Berthalet. I didn't like the musical that much because our Berthalet was, well, um, kind of the school dweeb to put it nicely,so it kind of ruined it for me. Thinking of Ames in the part would have COMPLETELY changed my view of the musical!!!!!
